When the deluxe drycleaning plant was assembled in 2001, the ownership consulted with various environmental regulatory bodies, including the Victorian EPA, to ensure that our flagship plant conformed to, and exceeded, the environmental regulations that governed the dry cleaning and laundry industry.

Dry cleaning machines

All of the dry cleaning machines are 5th generation dry-to-dry machines, with high solvent recovery, meaning minimal waste and environmental impact.

Trade waste disposal

The waste product that results from dry cleaning contains all the impurities removed from clothing, traces of solvent, soaps and detergents, and is not suitable for disposal in regular rubbish bins. Proper disposal of this waste product is a regulatory requirement as enforced by the EPA. The waste produced from our operation is removed in a sealed drum about once a month by a licensed company who process the waste at a treatment plant and turn it into re-useable solvent and other non-hazardous waste products.

Recycling

deluxe drycleaning will reuse and recycle hangers brought in by the public. Our own high-grade steel wire coat hangers are reusable and can be put back into circulation within the operation, other hangers are usually recycled. Polypropylene plastic used in the packaging of garments is recyclable in regular household recycle bins.

Water treatment & effluent

Waste water from the dry cleaning process is treated using a water purifier before it is ejected into the storm-water system. In addition, a cooling pit for effluent water holds water that has been released at high temperatures from our steam boiler and washing machines allowing it to cool to temperatures acceptable under EPA regulation before entering the storm-water system.

The ibag and re-useable garment bags

The ibag is a re-useable garment bag which eliminates the need for plastic and provides an easy way to transport clothes to-and-from the dry cleaner, see in store for re-useable garment bags.

25% green electricity

Thanks to AGL deluxe drycleaning is getting 25% of their power from renewable energy sources to help reduce our carbon footprint.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
